IQ Landscape Architects, as part of a multi-disciplinary project team prepared plans plans for the reconstruction of Broadway (Route 42) in Monticello, New York. IQ was responsible for the development of urban design and streetscape guidelines for over one half mile of the city’s main street. The project team studied alternative schemes to facilitate traffic circulation, pedestrian connections, and downtown parking. Goal emphasis during the conceptual design phase was to restore Monticello’s image as the historic business and cultural center of Sullivan County.
The consultants collaborated closely with Village Community groups, the New York State Department of Transportation, and the Thompson - Monticello Joint Comprehensive Plan Committee during all phases of the project.
