A casino, hotel and harness racing track is planned as part of the first phase of development for a new resort destination located on the site of the former famed Concord Hotel overlooking Lake Kiamesha in the Catskill Mountains.
As part of a multidisciplinary team of Architects and Engineers, IQ prepared a site Master Plan addressing the arrival sequence from surrounding highways and roads. The design for the site drew its inspiration from the local Catskill vernacular. Meadows, orchards, and groves of birches and oaks with undulating landforms and stone walks are prominent features. Sculpture and water elements add interest and drama, while integrating the building with the surrounding landscape.
