IQ worked with Orange County, the Town of Chester, and a Citizens Group as community designers to restore the historic Main Street in the Hamlet of Sugar Loaf, NY. The shops, restaurants, and galleries in the area are a major tourist attraction. Artisans and craftsman continue to settle in Sugar Loaf as they did centuries ago. Parking, traffic calming, and pedestrian connections were addressed in the design study. Streetscape elements and design guidelines, which reflect the uniqueness of the community, will also be proposed.
