IQ Landscape Architects has designed an extensive streetscape development plan for the City of New Rochelle’s North Avenue corridor. Along this corridor, four distinct districts have been identified from a land use standpoint. These four districts include the College District (Iona), the Government District (City Hall), the Neighborhood District, and the Transportation District (Metro-North/Amtrak station). Each of these areas is unique, with its own history, scale, and cultural makeup.
The urban design plan developed by IQ serves to visually unify the overall corridor, while recognizing and reinforcing the character of each neighborhood. The photos depict the strong pedestrian connection crossing North Ave between the newly constructed dormitory (Conese Hall) and the main Iona Campus.
