Sustainable East End Development Strategies - Long Island, NY

  • As part of an extensive planning study initiative for the entire East End of Long Island, IQ Landscape Architects worked with the planning firm of AKRF to develop concepts for several key nodes and corridors within the study area.

One such plan promoted a transit oriented development adjacent to a spur of the Long Island Railroad. Design recommendations encouraged pedestrian linkages, high density infill, and mixed use development within the hamlet core.

Another design study focused on transit oriented development at a rural crossroads. Recommendations included a vineyard visitor center as a gateway to the North Fork Wine Region.
