Pleasantville CBD Urban Design Plan - Pleasantville, NY

  • A local citizens group known as the Business Support Council, made up of community leaders and business owners in the Village, retained IQ to study redevelopment concepts for the central business core of Pleasantville.  Alternative build-out scenarios were evaluated which proposed low scale mixed-use development, incorporating retail, residential, and cultural components.  Infill buildings were proposed at a municipally owned parking lot, strengthening Memorial Plaza as a main retail corridor.  A new street was recommended providing connectivity through the core area and an opportunity for development.  A village green at the north end of the study area will create a public community gathering space, linked to the surrounding retail streets and the Jacob Burn Film Center complex.
