High Peaks Resort - Lake Placid, NY

  •  The High Peaks Resort design plan takes inspiration from the surrounding Adirondack native forest and mountains. This design of the woodland environment is a powerful statement that creates a definition of entrance and welcomes hotel visitors accentuating the bold modernity of the hotel and surrounding streetscape. The forest plantings carry along the entire frontage of the hotel along Saranac Avenue while the understory provides continuous seasonal interest. Indigenous stone slab steps meander through the forest environment from the peak of the hill to the path leading to the lobby entrance and will be dramatically uplit to introduce a spectacular nightscape. At the peak of the hill, visitors will find a rustic Adirondack gazebo with open rafters, pendant lighting and seating, which will provide unparalleled views to Mirror Lake.
